Yoga May Help Boost Mental Health
The review of over 100 studied by Dr. Murali Doraiswamy of Duke University revealed that yoga is effective in coping with anxiety, depression and stress. Of the studies reviewed for his article in, Frontiers in Affective Disorders and Psychosomatic Research, 16 was found to be a high quality. “Overall, most studies seemed to indicate a benefit,” Doraiswamy says. “If this were a drug in the early stages of development, every company would be drooling over it.”
In my personal experience with practicing yoga, I’ve noticed a calmer mind and sense of well-being. I recommend yoga for both mild anxiety and depression, and pain treatment.
