Caffeine and Fibromyalgia Pain
A new study reveals a link between high levels of caffeine consumption and increased fibromyalgia pain. Lead investigator, Steven E. Harte PhD of University of Michigan, studied 252 patients with fibromyalgia. Those consuming 4 cups of coffee or greater per day reported significantly higher pain scores. Dr. Harte’s lab is studying possible mechanisms to better understand the relationship between caffeine and pain.
