Causes of Low Back Pain
Low back pain is a common problem with 80% of adults in the United States suffering at some point in their lives. Complaints of low back pain are the fifth most common reason for physician visits in adults. There are many causes of the pain with the most common being: musculoskeletal, disc problems, arthritis of the joints, narrowing of the spinal canal and nerve compression. Proper treatment requires diagnosis. At our northshore clinic, I perform a complete diagnostic workup which may include MRI’s, Xrays, labs and a careful neurological exam. I then fully explain these results and review the MRI’s and Xray providing an independant interpretation of this information.
